The Men's Saints kept their playoff hopes alive with an impressive 2-0 against Bishop Mc Devitt on Wednesday. John Cujdik played strong in posting a shutout with 12 saves. Austin West scored the first goal from an assist from Joey Hatton. Austin then assisted on the second goal scored by Freshmen Tommy Defino - his first varsity goal. Way to hustle and get the ball in the net Tommy. The 2-0 win is very important since earlier in the season the Saints lost to Mc Devitt 1-0. With one game remaining for Neumann-Goretti and Mc Devitt - both teams have identical 3-11-1 records and are tied with 10 points. Neumann-Goretti faces West Catholic tommorrow a 74th & Lindbergh Blvds (across from the post office) at 3:30. McDevitt faces Kennedy-Kenrick. If both teams win their respective games or both lose their games, Neumann Goretti has the tiebreaker advantage due to the head-head tiebreaker rules and would gain the last playoff spot in the Blue Division. If McDevitt ties or wins and Neumann loses, then Mc Devitt earns the final playoff spot. If you can make it tomorrow, come out and root for your Saints!!! Go SAINTS!!!
